Mock Draft: Live FantasyPros.com 10-Team (Position 2) Grade B+

I wanted to avoid the RB-RB start; so I drafted out of Slot 2 today, this time trying the FantasyPros.com Live Mock Draft, 10 teams, PPR. I didn't feel this draft went as well as previous drafts, as I was stumped finding a player I wanted for many of the rounds and felt like I was drafting players I knew at above their ADP values. FantasyPros still gave me a B+ grade (867 score, 87/100) with a projected 4th place finish.

1.02 Cee Dee Lamb WR (DAL) I think Cee Dee Lamb is the #2 value. FantasyPros analysis suggested I should have picked Bijan here and claims it would have given me a A grade had I done so.

2.09 Ashton Jeanty RB (OAK) This is a full round after Christian McCaffrey, and I think there's probably a 50/50 chance of one finishing higher than the other. Derrick Henry went 2.10 and Kyren Williams went 3.01. Surely Jeanty has to be more valuable than those two.

3.02 Trey McBride TE (ARI) I've now drafted McBride in the 3rd round in all four mock drafts, but I think this is probably too high. I think I should have taken Bucky Irving here.

4.09 Mike Evans WR (TB) Now I was fishing to try to find a decent pick and trying to avoid taking TE-QB in rounds 3-4 again, as Daniels was on the board here again.

5.02 Jayden Daniels QB (WAS) Still couldn't pass up Daniels here. I guess Marvin Harrison Jr. is worth consideration here.

6.09 George Pickens WR (DAL) Forgot that I had already drafted CeeDee. Not sure whether I should really double up on Cowboys, but I had just missed a string of starting RBs (Chuba, Conner, TreVeyon, Montgomery) that went earlier in the round.

7.02 D'Andre Swift RB (CHI) Not especially happy having Swift as my RB2. RJ Harvey was my other consideration.

8.09 Jauan Jennings WR (SF) Considering that I got Jennings in Round 10 in the last two drafts, this seems like an overpay, but I didn't see anybody else on the board that I wanted more.

9.02 Joe Mixon RB (HOU) Didn't notice Mixon was still on the board here. I guess the injury has people really wary for him to fall this far.

10.09 Matthew Golden WR (GB) Every other receiver in GB is dealing with injuries, but I grabbed Golden a round and a half later in the last two drafts; so I just didn't have a good pick prepared here.

11.02 Jerome Ford RB (CLE) Might be my beginning of season RB2 on this roster.

12.09 Drake Maye QB (NE) Again, nobody stood out to pick here. Obviously, if I'm going to draft from the #2 slot, I need to be better prepared.

13.02 Broncos DST (DEN) Seems to be the consensus top defense this year; so without anybody pressing in my queue, I grabbed them a round ahead of everybody else.

14.09 Jaydon Blue RB (DAL) Again grabbing one of my favorite lottery picks. I'll probably need him to grab the starting job if my other RB picks lose their jobs as the season progresses.

15.02 Cameron Dicker K (LAC)

Mock Draft: FantasyPros Simulator 10-Team (Position 3) Grade A

Okay, I decided just to do my first Mock Draft this year on FantasyPros.com, having done no preparation so far. This just uses a simulator for the other nine teams and isn't against real people, but it's a good first start, and there's no clock; so I don't have to rush my picks as much. I selected 10-Team PPR with QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex, K, DST. It randomly assigned me draft slot 3. 1.03 WR CeeDee Lamb . Justin Jefferson was the other option here. I decided to go with the one with a more established QB. 2.08 RB De'Von Achane . Ladd McConkey was the WR option. I'm not convinced the Chargers aren't going to go back to the running game. Brock Bowers was available here, but seems a little too rich still. 3.03 TE Trey McBride . McConkey is still on the board. Locking in a top TE seems reasonable. 4.08 WR Tee Higgins . Real 10-Team Draft (NFL.com) From Position #10 (8/25/2024)

Yes, all my mock drafts were leading up to this, my actual fantasy football draft on NFL.com. Now, our league commissioner has built some idiosyncrasies into the league, which affected my draft slightly. In addition to being a PPR league, there is a 0.5 point bonus per rushing attempt. This kind of makes it like a half-PPR league in a way, but it also boosts the value of running QBs. Then, on top of that, there is an end-of-year payout to the team whose quarterbacks score the most points for the season. Similarly, there is an end-of-year payout for top-scoring defense through the season. There is a payout for the highest single-week running back performance, and a payout for the highest scoring week overall. I was randomly given the #10 position, which is probably my least favorite position this year, but I did notice that it does come with the bonus of getting the #1 waiver spot to start the season. 12-Team Mock Draft from Position #3 (FantasyPros Sim) 8/15/2024

Well, I did create a tier sheet, and then I forgot to use it for this FantasyPros Mock Draft Simulator . Three of my top four receivers have byes in Week 6, which would hurt me here. I need to pay more attention to the bye week before clicking that Draft button. FP gave me a B- (81/100), which was a measly one-point improvement over yesterday's draft  and a projected sixth place finish out of 12 teams. Pick 1.03: Tyreek Hill WR (bye 6). I think Tyreek should go #2 overall because CeeDee Lamb's status is still up in the air a little. Should I consider an RB here? Projections are Breece Hall (301.1)+Jaylen Waddle (228.3) versus Tyreek (325.1)+Rachaad White (237.0), nearly two points a game; so taking the WR here is much better. Pick 2.10: Cooper Kupp WR (bye 6). Stacking my top two picks with the same bye week doesn't seem like a good move.
