Mock Draft: FantasyPros Simulator 10-Team Position 3 (Grade A)

Okay, I decided just to do my first Mock Draft this year on FantasyPros.com, having done no preparation so far. This just uses a simulator for the other nine teams and isn't against real people, but it's a good first start, and there's no clock; so I don't have to rush my picks as much.

I selected 10-Team PPR with QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex, K, DST. It randomly assigned me draft slot 3.

1.03 WR CeeDee Lamb. Justin Jefferson was the other option here. I decided to go with the one with a more established QB.

2.08 RB De'Von Achane. Ladd McConkey was the WR option. I'm not convinced the Chargers aren't going to go back to the running game. Brock Bowers was available here, but seems a little too rich still.

3.03 TE Trey McBride. McConkey is still on the board. Locking in a top TE seems reasonable.

4.08 WR Tee Higgins. Jalen Hurts and George Kittle were available here. I think I like Kittle in Round 4 better than McBride in Round 3. RBs are looking thin here, with David Montgomery being the top suggestion.

5.03 RB James Cook. TD regression is in store for Cook, but this is too low to let him pass by. Omarion Hampton is still available, as is Joe Burrow.

6.08 WR DaVonta Smith. Best QB left is now Mahomes. Swift and Harvey are RBs on the board.

7.03 WR Chris Olave. Best QB left is now Mayfield. Swift is still on the board. I think Olave's talent is too good to let him pass by here.

8.08 WR Travis Hunter. Best QB left is now Bo Nix or Kyler Murray. Jameson Williams is still available at WR, but with my WR starters set, it seems like a good time to take the gamble on Hunter.

9.03 QB Bo Nix. Probably didn't need to take him here, as Kyler and Dak Prescott are still available, but I didn't see anything else I wanted. See note below.

10.08 RB Rachaad White. Even though Bucky Irving is clearly better, it seems like the Bucs are still going to get White on the field a lot.

11.03 QB Dak Prescott. I think Dak is primed for comeback player of the year. I also liked Jaydon Blue here, but I was hoping he would make it to round 12.

12.08 RB Ray Davis. Blue didn't make it here, but getting the backup to James Cook is probably a good idea.

13.03 DEF Baltimore. Could have drafted Brandon Aubrey here.

14.08 K Tyler Bass. Would have gotten PIT Defense if I had taken Aubrey in Round 13.

FantasyPros graded this draft as a 93 out of 100 (A), with a projected 2nd Place finish and suggested that I could have taken Tony Pollard in Round 9 instead of Bo Nix, in which case it would have projected me for a 1st Place finish.

Well, I did create a tier sheet, and then I forgot to use it for this FantasyPros Mock Draft Simulator . Three of my top four receivers have byes in Week 6, which would hurt me here. I need to pay more attention to the bye week before clicking that Draft button. FP gave me a B- (81/100), which was a measly one-point improvement over yesterday's draft  and a projected sixth place finish out of 12 teams. Pick 1.03: Tyreek Hill WR (bye 6). I think Tyreek should go #2 overall because CeeDee Lamb's status is still up in the air a little. Should I consider an RB here? Projections are Breece Hall (301.1)+Jaylen Waddle (228.3) versus Tyreek (325.1)+Rachaad White (237.0), nearly two points a game; so taking the WR here is much better. Pick 2.10: Cooper Kupp WR (bye 6). Stacking my top two picks with the same bye week doesn't seem like a good move. If I had recognized I was doing this, I would have taken Drake London or Brandon Aiyuk here instead. Pick 3.03: Rachaad White RB (bye 11)...

10-Team Simulated (FantasyPros) from Position #1 (Grade A+) 8/22/2024

Well, I took a break from Mock Drafting for a week after Google AdSense said that my content wasn't unique and thus not ad-worthy. As if I were copying this from somewhere? Or as if all my posts are repetitive and contain no new information? Anyway, I'm not in this for the money, and not many people are reading this anyway (not a single person has commented on anything yet). So, probably there are no new ideas contained herein. Or, my drafts have been so poor as not to be worth reading. But, today, I finished my positional tiers to use for drafting, and I decided to run a mock draft on FantasyPros Simulator again to try them out. And, this time I got an A+ grade (97/100), with a projected 1st Place finish. So, take that, AdSense! Pick 1.01: Christian McCaffrey RB (bye 9). Almost everybody agrees he should go #1. My projections analysis shows him as 6.2 points per game better than the likely available RB at the end of Round 2, whereas the top WR is only going to be 3.1 points pe...

10-Team Mock Draft NFL.com From Position #10 (again) 8/24/2024

I tried to grab position 8, but I guess it was filled, and I got placed in position 10. Well, this will give me a chance to compare against the one I did earlier today , also on NFL.com and also from position 10. Pick 1.10: Garrett Wilson WR (bye 12). This draft started out much closer aligned to my rankings; so I got Garrett Wilson, who is my #10 ranked player, and I didn't get so lucky as in the last draft, where I got Bijan Robinson #4 and A.J. Brown #9. Pick 2.01: Saquon Barkley RB (bye5). I had Kyren Williams ranked higher than Barkley, but I didn't have the conviction to take Kyren when drafting here; so I've adjusted my rankings to move Saquon back ahead of Kyren. Pick 3.10: Deebo Samuel WR (bye 9). As with Kittle, if Brandon Aiyuk is going to hold out into the season, Deebo has big upside here at the end of Round 3. Pick 4.01: Rachaad White RB (bye 11).
