10-Team Mock Draft NFL.com From Position #10 (again) 8/24/2024
I tried to grab position 8, but I guess it was filled, and I got placed in position 10. Well, this will give me a chance to compare against the one I did earlier today, also on NFL.com and also from position 10.
Pick 1.10: Garrett Wilson WR (bye 12). This draft started out much closer aligned to my rankings; so I got Garrett Wilson, who is my #10 ranked player, and I didn't get so lucky as in the last draft, where I got Bijan Robinson #4 and A.J. Brown #9.
Pick 2.01: Saquon Barkley RB (bye5). I had Kyren Williams ranked higher than Barkley, but I didn't have the conviction to take Kyren when drafting here; so I've adjusted my rankings to move Saquon back ahead of Kyren.
Pick 3.10: Deebo Samuel WR (bye 9). As with Kittle, if Brandon Aiyuk is going to hold out into the season, Deebo has big upside here at the end of Round 3.
Pick 4.01: Rachaad White RB (bye 11). I don't have much faith in Rachaad, but nobody else does either; so I keep ending up with him. Kenneth Walker is also available here and might have bigger upside. I'll have to think whether I want to adjust rankings here.
Pick 5.10: DJ Moore WR (bye 7). I have Moore rated slightly higher than DK Metcalf, George Pickens, and Amari Cooper, but any of those are solid for the Flex spot.
Pick 6.01: Lamar Jackson QB (bye 14). Patrick Mahomes was still on the board here (as opposed to the last draft where he went in Round 1). My league does give a premium for running QBs; so I grabbed Lamar here instead. Anthony Richardson also went in this round after Mahomes. That seems a lot riskier to me than taking Lamar (or even Mahomes), though I did happily take Richardson with this pick in the previous draft.
Pick 7.10: Tee Higgins WR (bye 12). If Ja'Marr's holdout continues into the season, Higgins will be the clear #1 in the Bengals offense.
Pick 8.01: Rashee Rice WR (bye 6). And I believe Rice is the #1 WR in Patrick Mahomes's offense. There is now quite a history of Chiefs' rookie WRs not stepping up, especially early in the season.
Pick 9.10: Rhamondre Stevenson RB (bye 14). In the last draft, I also took Godwin and Stevenson with these two picks. Though, I swapped them this time.
Pick 10.01: Chris Godwin WR (bye 11)
Pick 11.10: Brian Robinson Jr. RB (bye 14). And the same pick for me in Round 11.
Pick 12.01: Jayden Daniels QB (bye 14). I probably looked like a Commanders homer to the other drafters, but snagging the upside of Daniels in Round 12 was something I couldn't pass up.
Pick 13.10: Taysom Hill TE (bye 12). Decided to move up on Taysom, especially since I hadn't drafted a tight end yet.
Pick 14.01: Ravens DST (bye 14). Paid attention and got the right DST this time.
Pick 15.10: Jake Bates K (bye 5). Last pick of the draft. Kicked two 64-yard field goals to win a UFL game in March (after the defense tried to ice him with a timeout on the first one). Playing for a high-scoring offense; so he might be a sneaky pick. I can always swap him out for Ka'imi Fairbairn or some other kicker on waivers if I need to. Hey, Google AdSense, do you think people are getting this insight elsewhere?
