10-Team Mock Draft From Position #6 (Yahoo! Live) 8/12/2024
Today, I decided to draft using Yahoo! Fantasy Football Mock Drafts. It looks like there are a lot of active drafters here; so it's pretty easy to get into an 8-team, 10-team, 12-team, or 14-team draft with live people. The Yahoo! server crashed after my draft; so I didn't get to take a screenshot of the Draft Board. Yahoo! only grades real drafts; so I didn't get a grade for this mock draft.
Pick 1.06: Ja'Marr Chase (Cin - WR) Bijan Robinson was the other option to consider here, although #7 actually took Marvin Harrison Jr.; so #8 got Bijan. Using FP Projections, it looks it's probably a wash here. Bijan+Puka=568.1 Ja'Marr+Saquon=565.0. Bijan+Davante = 540.2 Ja'Marr+Kyren = 541.0.
Pick 2.05: Derrick Henry (Bal - RB) I should have taken Saquon Barkley here, I didn't even notice him on the Board. I'm not used to seeing Derrick Henry's name come up, I think, having not drafted in this spot before. Puka Nacua was also still on the board here. Kyren Williams is projected to outscore Derrick Henry on FP.
Pick 3.06: Cooper Kupp (LAR - WR) I think Cooper Kupp is a more proven entity than Drake London and Chris Olave. Nico Collins and Brandon Aiyuk were also available here. Any of these receivers seem to be better picks than the available RBs, James Cook and Josh Jacobs.
Pick 4.05: Jalen Hurts (Phi - QB) In a previous draft, I took James Cook in Round 4. I think that's probably still a good choice. I decided to change strategy and take an early QB this time.
Pick 5.06: Rachaad White (TB - RB) To think I drafted White in Rounds 3 and 4 in earlier drafts. This is a better value here.
Pick 6.05: George Pickens (Pit - WR) At this point, I might want to look for an RB here. There were so many WRs available that I ended up taking four straight. I took Pickens because I still needed a Flex, but the RB dropoff is coming soon; so grabbing Rhamondre Stevenson or James Conner here would have been a better move.
Pick 7.06: Tee Higgins (Cin - WR) D'Andre Swift went with the next pick and Raheem Mostert went at the end of the round. The RB options drop off significantly after that. Higgins was hard to pass up here, though. With a healthy Joe Burrow, he should be a solid WR2.
Pick 8.05: Rashee Rice (KC - WR) I don't have a TE yet; so I should be drafting Jake Ferguson here, I think, but I don't think that the top target for Patrick Mahomes is going to last past this round.
Pick 9.06: Chris Godwin (TB - WR) Too early to take Brock Bowers, David Njoku, or Dallas Goedert. Seemed early for Jonathon Brooks (though he went with the next pick). I officially have too many WRs now on this team. Maybe I'll be able to trade one for a TE after week 1.
Pick 10.05: Jayden Daniels (Was - QB) I'm drafting a lot of Jayden Daniels as my 2nd QB in Round 10. Jordan Love was still on the board here, though; so this is probably a reach in this draft.
Pick 11.06: Javonte Williams (Den - RB) Four RBs that I wasn't excited about (Pollard, Jaylen Warren, Tyjae Spears, and Devin Singletary) went ahead of Javonte. Blake Corum, Chase Brown, Zack Moss, and Austin Ekeler went after.
Pick 12.05: Gus Edwards (LAC - RB) Could be the leading TD scorer for the Chargers. I also could have just taken Brock Bowers here.
Pick 13.06: Pat Freiermuth (Pit - TE) Had to grab a TE eventually. I decided not to take Dalton Schultz because he's going to have a lot of competition for targets.
Pick 14.05: Buffalo (Buf - DEF) For some reason in this draft, people took their kickers early; so only two DSTs had been taken when I picked here.
Pick 15.06: Matt Gay (Ind - K) Second-to-last kicker taken. Tyler Bass was the last pick of the draft and the last kicker.
