10-Team Mock Draft From #10 Position (8/10/2024)
Trying a draft from Slot 10 to make sure that none of my Elite Eight are available. Once again using FantasyPros Mock Draft Simulator. This draft seemed to start out well, but it got ugly in the later rounds. Because there seemed to be a never-ending supply of good wide receivers in the last draft, but in this draft they were suddenly all gone when I started to look for them in Round 10. FP gave me a B- (80/100) on this draft.
Picks 1.10 & 2.1: Garrett Wilson WR & Jonathan Taylor RB. Because this is a snake draft, the #10 pick gets two in a row each time and then has to wait 18 picks to draft again. Also available here at the turn are Puka Nacua, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Saquon Barkley. I think it still makes sense to take one RB and one WR here If you want Davante Adams or Marvin Harrison Jr., you can take one of them along with your favorite remaining RB.
Picks 3.10 & 4.1: Brandon Aiyuk WR & Josh Jacobs RB. Continuing to stay balanced here. Rachaad White is also here again, but I've trained myself to look for Jacobs, who is a much better runner in my opinion, though perhaps doesn't have the receiving opportunity that White gets in Tampa Bay. James Cook is another RB option, whose low TD expectations drops him down this far. Sam LaPorta or Travis Kelce could go here as well.
Picks 5.10 & 6.1: Anthony Richardson QB & Amari Cooper WR. Rhamondre Stevenson is an RB option here. Tee Higgins, Zay Flowers, and Christian Kirk are other WRs to draft for the flex spot if you're not a fan of Cooper.
Picks 7.10 & 8.1: Najee Harris RB & George Kittle TE. Kittle and Kyle Pitts were on the board here, along with Kirk, Terry McLaurin, and Diontae Johnson as WR options. If I had passed on Richardson, Kyler Murray was still around for a QB.
Picks 9.10 & 10.1: Kyler Murray QB & Devin Singletary RB. I was surprised that Kyler made it another two rounds and given Richardson's injury history, it seemed reasonable to grab him as a second QB. But, I probably should have picked up one of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jordan Addison, or Ladd McConkey here, given what was going to be available the next time I got to pick.
Picks 11.10 & 12.1: Kyle Pitts TE & Joshua Palmer WR. I didn't need to grab Kittle if I had known Pitts was going to fall this far. The WRs available were pretty thin here. Romeo Doubs, Rasheed Shaheed, Brandin Cooks, Mike Williams. Nobody exciting, and I had slacked on getting WR depth. Oh, Jayden Daniels was still available here. I would have been happy with Murray+Daniels; so I could have used Pick 6.1 to grab Tee Higgins instead of Richardson, perhaps.
Picks 13.10 & 14.1: Khalil Shakir WR & Ravens DST. I was probably lucky to get both of these.
Pick 15.10: Tyler Bass K. If your snake draft has an odd number of rounds, the #10 drafter gets screwed at the end. None of the sites probably support it, but the last drafter should get the first pick in the last round if there are an odd number of rounds.
