Real Draft: NFL.com 10-Team (Position 5) Grade: A

Real Draft #2 this season is with a bunch of parents whose kids went to the same preschool. This is year four of this league, which I won last year. We have one new player, drafting in the #2 spot, who made some draft choices that were probably not up to the level of the rest of league, but we'll see how it all plays out. There were sixteen tight ends drafted, which seemed a bit overboard, but even more odd was that the #4 tight end in my ranking sheet went undrafted. NFL.com gave me an A grade with a projected 10-5 record and a second-place finish. The top grade went to the team in the #10 slot. This league has very non-standard scoring, where RBs get 0.5 points per attempt, which makes them more valuable than WRs. Also the team with the top scoring QB play wins money; so it does make sense to draft QBs a little earlier. There's also money for the top scoring DST play over the year; so reaching early for DST could pay off. I did neither this season.

.05 Christian McCaffrey RB Just a conviction pick for me, going ahead of Barkley and Gibbs.

.06 Puka Nacua WR I would have taken Achane, but he went at 2.05. Puca should still be a top 5 receiver, even with Jimmy G at quarterback.

.05 Kyren Williams RB I was surprised to see Kyren in the third round; so I took him. I realized two picks later that I should have taken Lamar Jackson, given the QB bonus in this league.

.06 TreVeyon Henderson RB Again, I wasn't paying close enough attention to what was on the board. George Kittle was still here at this point and should have been my pick.

.05 George Kittle TE Okay, I don't know why Kittle fell to me, he shouldn't have. None of the picks ahead of him in this round, McLaurin, Amari Cooper(?), Swift, or Mayfield had any business being picked in front of him.

.06 Isiah Pacheco RB I have two running backs with Week 14 byes; so grabbing a fourth RB in this league with no competition for the starting job seemed prudent here.

.05 George Pickens WR Happy to grab Pickens this late as my second WR. Probably still would have been okay with Tet McMillan or Courtland Sutton, but not nearly as happy.

.06 Jaylen Waddle WR Not really sure what's going on with Tyreek Hill, but would not be surprised if Waddle turns out to be Miami's leading receiver this year, in which case he's a steal in Round 8.

.05 Rashee Rice WR He sat at the top of the Pick list for a couple of rounds. I don't have a problem taking him here, obviously.

.06 Austin Ekeler RB Possibly a reach. It wasn't that long ago that Ekeler was the top fantasy player overall and with the trading of Brian Robinson Jr, it seems like Washington is confident that Ekeler still has something left.

.05 Bhayshul Tuten RB Lottery pick #1.

.06 Matthew Golden WR Lottery pick #2.

.05 Justin Fields QB Probably not going to start him Week 1.

.06 J.J. McCarthy QB Will Kevin O'Connell's magic strike again?

.05 Brandon Aiyuk WR To stash on IR. I didn't grab a DST or K in the draft, but it looks like my league allows me to put Rice and Aiyuk on IR.
