Mock Draft: Live Yahoo 12-Team (Position 8)
Trying another 12-team draft, this time on Yahoo. Obviously, I need to work on my tracking better, as I missed out on picking a tight end altogether, as I was a little dismayed when Tyler Warren disappeared earlier than I expected. Looks like the other eleven teams all drafted two QBs; so I'm glad that I at least got one in Round 10.
.8 Nico Collins WR (HOU) CeeDee Lamb went 1.6, Justin Jefferson went 1.7. I'm still happy with Nico as the fourth best WR this year. Ashton Jeanty and Derrick Henry are the RB options, and given the depth of WRs in the middle rounds and the lack of RBs, I'm leaning more and more toward RB-RB starts being viable.
.5 Bucky Irving RB (TB) I like Drake London, Puka Nacua, and AJ Brown as WR options, but I'm now going to try to get at least one RB in the first two rounds. I'm worried about Achane's injury (he went 2.6). Josh Jacobs went 2.4.
.8 Omarion Hampton RB (LAC) James Cook went 3.6 and suddenly the RB board looked much weaker; so I grabbed Hampton over Chuba Hubbard and Alvin Kamara.
.5 George Pickens WR (DAL) A week ago, I was getting Pickens in Round 6. Now, I have to grab him in Round 4 ahead of Garrett Wilson, Chuba Hubbard, and Alvin Kamara. I would have taken Jalen Hurts , but he was sniped at 4.4.
.8 Calvin Ridley WR (TEN) Ridley is also moving up, but I'm happy to take him over Zay Flowers based on volume. I was hoping RJ Harvey would fall to me, but he went at 5.5.
.5 Courtland Sutton WR (DEN) At this point with a lot of good WRs still available, I should probably consider taking Aaron Jones, Tyrone Tracy, or Jaylen Warren to guarantee that I have a serviceable third-string RB. Definitely pass on Mahomes and Hockenson. Consider Odunze or Olave here as other WRs.
.8 Rashee Rice WR (KC) Odunze and Pearsall are available, but Rice is the likeliest one to be a week winner when he's on the field. Bo Nix is available here.
.5 Tank Bigsby RB (JAX) Ugh, this is where I feel like I have to grab somebody at RB, especially after JK Dobbins went at 8.4. But the trick is not to let positional scarcity frighten you into making the wrong pick. It turned out that Austin Ekeler is still available until 13.7; so I could have (and should have) grabbed Njoku here. Tyler Warren went at 8.3, and I didn't even notice, but that's even more reason to have grabbed Njoku.
.8 Bhayshul Tuten RB (JAX) Seems like either Bigsby or Tuten will be the #1 back (or it will be a timeshare). Matthew Golden and Colston Loveland are still on the board here.
.5 Jordan Love QB (GB) J.J. McCarthy ended up going at 11.5; so I'm pretty sure this is the right place to take Love.
.8 Jerome Ford RB (CLE) I didn't notice that Austin Ekeler was still available. I'd rather have him than Ford.
.5 Keon Coleman WR (BUF) Not sure why nobody was taking Coleman, seemed like he had fallen too far at this point.
.8 Jaydon Blue RB (DAL) Ekeler finally showed up and went at 13.7. Crosskey-Merritt was still available here.
.5 Jake Bates K (DAL) Decided to go kicker first here, as the top defenses were gone already.
.8 49ers DST (SF)
