Mock Draft: Live Yahoo 12-Team (Position 12)

Decided to try a twelve-team draft today, as I'm not sure how many teams will be in my third league, but I know it will be on Yahoo; so that's where I joined the mock draft. I ended up with Slot 12 out of 12; so drafting on the turn. Ten of the teams drafted two quarterbacks, and I ended up waiting on QB until the last pick of the draft; so I wasn't especially happy with the way that turned out. I also started WR-WR; so my RB roster is looking kind of weak.

1.12 Brian Thomas Jr WR (JAX) & 2.01 Drake London WR (ATL) Heard some discouraging news on Achane's injury today; so I didn't want to draft him here. Jacobs and Irving seemed to be too high at this spot. If you're not afraid of Malik Nabers's three injuries, he could have been swapped in for one of these receivers.

3.12 James Cook RB (BUF) & 4.01 TreVeyon Henderson RB (NE) Obligated to grab two RBs here after missing the top-tier, but the next group coming was Chuba Hubbard and Alvin Kamara. Garrett Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr are WR options. The top three TEs were gone by this pick.

5.12 Calvin Ridley WR (TEN) & 6.01 Isiah Pacheco RB (KC) Still able to find a starting RB at the 5-6 turn. Tyrone Tracy and Jaylen Warren were still available. Worthy, Flowers, Jameson, and Sutton are alternate WR options here.

7.12 Emeka Egbuka WR (TB) & 8.01 David Njoku TE (CLE) Looks like Egbuka will be a starter in Week 1. Joe Flacco was announced as the Browns starting QB, which should mean good things for Njoku as long as that stays the case. Jerry Jeudy, Rashee Rice, and Rome Odunze were other receiver options. Joe Mixon was an RB option. Kyler Murray was on the board for QB.

9.12 Keon Coleman WR (BUF) & 10.01 Tyler Warren TE (IND) Shakir, Shaheed, and Pittman are the other WR options here, but probably I should have taken Jordan Love or Justin Herbert as my QB instead of the WR, as nearly every useful QB got taken before my next pick.

11.12 Jaydon Blue RB (DAL) & 12.01 Quinshon Judkins RB (CLE) What I wanted to do was take my QB here (Geno Smith) and then taken Anthony Richardson as a lottery ticket with my last pick, but by the time my pick came around, I forgot what I was doing and got distracted by seeing Judkins available here.

13.12 Eagles DST (PHI) & 14.01 Cameron Dicker K (LAC) The top kicker and defense were gone, but the #2s were available here. Haven't done enough research to decide which should be the #2s yet, but these picks should be solid.

15.12 Geno Smith QB (LV) It was going to get really ugly if somebody took Smith in one of the previous two rounds. I probably would have just had to skip QB and then take somebody off waivers before Game 1, like Daniel Jones, if he's named the starter because even Bryce Young was gone by this point.

This is a family league, although they are all in-laws. Yahoo has not yet given me a grade on this draft. I'll have to add it later. Quarterbacks and Tight Ends kept being drafted this time, with seven teams landing at least two QBs and seven drafting at least two TEs (including me). I kept seeing QBs that I would be fine starting on the board and people kept taking quarterbacks before my turn; so I waited until the last round to take J.J. McCarthy. Update: Yahoo graded this draft as a B with a projected 4th-place finish at 10-5. 1.02 Bijan Robinson RB  My latest projected stats did not show Christian McCaffrey as RB1 and confirmed Ja'Marr Chase as the best overall pick (+11.4), Bijan (+11.4), Saquon (+11.2), and Jahmyr (+11.0), and the first four picks went exactly like that. 2.09 Drake London WR  Bowers went 2.07 and Kittle went 2.08. Given that 1.01 took Chase, my default plan was to take an RB first and then a WR, but with only London and AJ Brown left from this tier of WR...

Mock Draft: FantasyPros Simulator 10-Team (Position 3) Grade A

Okay, I decided just to do my first Mock Draft this year on FantasyPros.com, having done no preparation so far. This just uses a simulator for the other nine teams and isn't against real people, but it's a good first start, and there's no clock; so I don't have to rush my picks as much. I selected 10-Team PPR with QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex, K, DST. It randomly assigned me draft slot 3. 1.03 WR CeeDee Lamb . Justin Jefferson was the other option here. I decided to go with the one with a more established QB. 2.08 RB De'Von Achane . Ladd McConkey was the WR option. I'm not convinced the Chargers aren't going to go back to the running game. Brock Bowers was available here, but seems a little too rich still. 3.03 TE Trey McBride . McConkey is still on the board. Locking in a top TE seems reasonable. 4.08 WR Tee Higgins . Mock Draft: Live Yahoo 12-Team (Position 8)

Trying another 12-team draft, this time on Yahoo. Obviously, I need to work on my tracking better, as I missed out on picking a tight end altogether, as I was a little dismayed when Tyler Warren disappeared earlier than I expected. Looks like the other eleven teams all drafted two QBs; so I'm glad that I at least got one in Round 10. 1.8 Nico Collins WR (HOU) CeeDee Lamb went 1.6, Justin Jefferson went 1.7. I'm still happy with Nico as the fourth best WR this year. Ashton Jeanty and Derrick Henry are the RB options, and given the depth of WRs in the middle rounds and the lack of RBs, I'm leaning more and more toward RB-RB starts being viable. 2.5 Bucky Irving RB (TB) I like Drake London, Puka Nacua, and AJ Brown as WR options, but I'm now going to try to get at least one RB in the first two rounds.
